Description
Panorama hike
Some people claim that the Schynige Platte panoramic hike offers the best views of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Even those who disagree must admit that hardly any short tour offers more variety to the eye. After starting at the mountain restaurant, you pass the Tuba viewpoint and head towards the Loucherhorn. At the Grätli signpost, turn right and walk past the Oberberg huts back to the starting point. The Bernese Alps with the Dreigestirn are always in view, not to mention the summer mountain flora and Lake Brienz - a lot of Switzerland in a short time.
Nature cinema
From which perspective do the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau look the most impressive? On the Schynige Platte, every guest makes his or her own film: from June to October, the nature cinema is open to guests, a circular trail at over 2000 metres above sea level above the Schynige Platte railway station. Along the way, wooden steles with peepholes frame the view in ever-changing ways. The two giant picture frames are a real cinema: You can sit on their lower bar and have your picture taken with the triumvirate in the background. There's also cinema for the ears. Take a seat on one of the wooden, curved benches, close your eyes and enjoy the local film music: the calls of the alpine jackdaws and the rustling of the pines.
